Plastic Bag Corset

I actually won ‘best in show’ in the ‘Swag The Bag’ art exhibition by Second Shift for this piece. I created a corset made from grocery bags. I drew inspiration from my more 'emotional' baggage and made this to represent my strained relationship with my sister, she's done quite a few things that have made me not able to trust her. Along with making decisions that have hurt the family, my parents especially, I've found myself standoffish towards her, so the vines twisting around my arm and neck and down the bodice represent that strangling, piercing feeling that our relationship now seems to give me. But the flower at the bottom represents hope for growth and that maybe one day it will get better .
